We’re always swooning over an elopement in Santorini overlooking the Caldera, especially when decorated with the ever-summery pampas grass! Mirka and Julien wanted to celebrate their wedding with just the closest of their friends at the beginning of summer in Santorini! Eloping to a greek island after the pandemic was an oasis of blue and refreshing breeze, simply divine for an intimate wedding ceremony and a few days relaxing under the glorious Aegean sun.
As opposed to the majority of weddings in Santorini, Mirka and Julien wanted a morning ceremony to have the whole day ahead of them, to enjoy their friends, festivities, and overall positive atmosphere of the island. Along with their friends, they had booked a beautiful private villa to enjoy both the quietness, as well as the flexibility of being the masters of their space and use it how they saw fit for their wedding day. Hosting a morning wedding highlights the beauty of the surrounding natural landscape and Cycladic colors in the light of day! It really made a difference!
After the ceremony, Mirka and Julien headed with their photographers to capture their portraits on the village of Imerovigli, a world-famous location in Santorini with breathtaking view and alleys, as well as the village of Pirgos that encompasses perfectly the unique character and personality of Santorini and is a must capture if you’re getting married in Santorini!
Decidedly neutral and incredibly versatile, a pampas grass wedding décor is perfect for the island! It complements the abundance of white and blue in the most refined way. And since pampas grass stacks have a soft, billowing look we combined them with roses and they made for a fabulous statement component for Mirka and Julien’s wedding decor. The arch we designed for their ceremony was overlooking the Caldera and it created a stunning focal point, endless blue framing this dreamy vow ceremony!

Put ’em all together and watch the magic unfold. Mirka and Julien invested in impeccable wedding details, paying attention to curating their wedding style to fit the season, location, and atmosphere of their destination!
Mirka’s wedding dress was simply stunning for an elopement in the greek islands, with delicate applique lace and the most elegant details to accompany it! Julien chose a breezy linen suit, simply ideal for a wedding in Santorini, and wanting to keep cool yet look completely stylish! What can we say, we adore a couple that knows how to dress the looks!
After the ceremony followed a boat trip around the island so everyone could catch the warm friendly sun, take a dip in the majestic waters of Santorini, drink local wine and enjoy the Cycladic cuisine, and most all toast to the newlyweds! We adore couples who think outside of the box, like Mirka and Julien who celebrated on a boat, giving their few guests and themselves a treat they will remember in the years to come! Especially with elopements, experiences are the key elements and anything goes! We loved planning their getaway and adding the final touches that would make it adorable!
